Born at the end of the 2008 summer, Ty and Ray started Maruth (meaning God of Storms/winds in Hindu) with an idea of starting their own style of metal. They took what they wanted in metal without any influences. Within 2 weeks they added Jeff on drums and Scott on bass guitar. Finally, a band where each member wanted to go the same direction in all aspects, they started composing music and playing shows within 2 months of being together. Thus began the story of Maruth. In January of 2010 Eric was added to the lineup bringing a new and creative element to the band.
The mindset behind Maruth is to go somewhere. We're not the typical band that says "We are going to be rock stars," especially those without any momentum. The ideology behind Maruth is to play everywhere we can and have people appreciate what we bring to the table. A new style of metal where we don't stick to any genre and are not presumptuous by saying our way is the best. We play what we want and how we want it because we like what we do. If no one appreciates our music, they don't have to listen to it. This is who we are and what we're about as Maruth. |
